Genuardi's Store Closing Sale Starts Saturday

The store will close for good on Thursday, July 5 at 6 p.m.

is holding a store closing sale starting Saturday and going through Thursday, when its doors will shut for good at 6 p.m. The store will become a McCaffrey's by mid July.

During the sale, items will be 30 percent off, according to Jim McCaffrey, owner of McCaffrey's.

Once Genuardi's shuts down Thursday, the store will be closed for a week for cleaning and restocking, McCaffrey told Patch earlier this month. It will reopen as a McCaffrey's by the middle of the month. The interior will continue to undergo renovations once it opens.

This will be McCaffrey's fourth location. The first store opened in Yardley in 1986. There are also locations in Princeton and West Windsor, N.J.

The family-owned market specializes in prepared foods and natural and organic options.

Sorry to see this happen. I myself have gone through a store closing.Hopefully McCaffretys will hire the old Genuardis employees....good luck..Unemployed in florida because of Albertsons.......

Instead of a sale it would be nice if Genuardis donated remaining inventory to charities. Maybe they will do so with any leftovers after the sale.

FYI I just got back from Genuardi's. One employee told me the sale items included produce, dairy, meat and store brand. However, when I went up to pay, the cashier took 30 percent off my whole order. So I'm not sure exactly how the sale is working but there are certainly deals to be had.

kara, is it a mad house, pleasant shopping or stressful?
Kara Seymour June 30, 2012 at 05:37 PM
It wasn't a mad house at all. But I was there at 8 am. I doubt either way it's a mad house though, it was very quiet when I was there. The employees were all friendly and helpful.

Awesome Kara. Thanks! Was picturing mass insanity for the deals
