Grange Fair Kicks Off Wednesday

The five-day fair features livestock shows, antique farm machinery, entertainment, food and much more.

If it’s mid-August in Bucks County, it can only mean one thing: the Grange Fair.

The five-day fair kicks off Wednesday at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds off Penns Park Road in Wrightstown Township. Festivities continue through Sunday.

The fair will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fair will feature everything from livestock competitions to antique farm vehicles, live entertainment, vendors, food, a carnival and much more.

The opening ceremony begins Wednesday at 10 a.m. From there, things get underway quickly with a 4-H rabbit show and a poultry show at 10 a.m.

An oxen demonstration begins a 2 p.m., followed by a market hog show at 5 p.m. A 4-H parade of sheep breeds starts at 6 p.m., followed by an alpaca and llama show at 7 p.m.

There will be plenty of live entertainment Wednesday, including a performance from the Dazzling Mills Family at 1:30 p.m. on Stage 1 under the entertainment tent.  The Dazzling Mills Family performs again at 5 p.m.

The Big Tiny Young show will be on stage at 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Then, the Daisy Jug Band will perform popular country music at 8 p.m

Of course, the fair will feature various booths from community businesses and organizations, as well as an array of food and refreshments.

Carnival-style rides are set up and run by Skelly’s.

This year, the entry fee is $10 per vehicle, except Sunday when the fee is $5. A five-day pass is $30.
