Heat Advisory Issued for Today

A heat advisory will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the surrounding area, including Bucks and Montgomery counties. The advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. today.

The Weather Service said a very hot and humid air mass will cause temperatures to rise into the mid 90s and create dangerous conditions. Heat index values of around 100 to 105 degrees are likely.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. According to the advisory, the elderly, children and pets are at greatest risk, especially where there is no air conditioning.
