June 20: Movies in the Park Starts Tonight

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. It is going to be hot today. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Bucks County that will go into effect today at 1 p.m. and end Friday at 6 a.m. The National Weather Service is predicting a high near 98 degrees today with heat index values as high as 101.

2. Movies in the Park, the outdoor summer film series at , opens tonight with a screening of "The Muppets." Evan King will perform live music before the movie. Music starts around 8 p.m. and the movie begins at dark. The event is free.

3. The Newtown Business Association will hold its montly business card exchange today at 5 p.m. at . The event is free. RSVP online at www.NewtownBA.org.

4.  There will be a Wine and Shopping Extravaganza tonight at  The event begins at 7 p.m. and will feature 15 shopping vendors. Admission is $6 and will include a wine tasting as well as door prizes. 

5. Newtown Township Parks and Recreation is hosting a class tonight called "Bridging from Conventional to Holistic Healthcare." The class will explore natural healing, medication safety and drug/herbal interactions. The cost to attend is $15. To register or for more information, visit www.newtownfun.com.
