Newtown Firm Sues Philadelphia School District

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Security & Data Technologies Inc. sued the Philadelphia School District after it lost a $7.5 million surveillance-camera project.

 

A Newtown-based firm has sued the Philadelphia School District after it lost a $7.5 million surveillance-camera project, the Philadelphia Inquirier reported today.

According to the article, . filed the federal civil rights suit after former Philadelphia School Superintendent Arlene C. Ackerman intervened on behalf of a minority-owned firm.

Security & Data Technologies Inc. said it was not chosen for the project in fall 2010 solely because of race, the Inquirer reported. The company's owner, Jerome Paley, is white, the article goes on to say.
