After its initial statement that Council Rock School District would no longer have ninth grade sports, the school board unanimously passed a proposal Thursday night that allocates $10,000 to aid the efforts to organize a supplemental program.

The developers of the former Acme site on Sycamore Street came before the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Monday with an urgent plea to expedite the approval of revised plans for the project known as The Promenade. However, they must get a Zoning Hearing Board variance for parking. If and when that happens, they will then come back before the Board of Supervisors for approval.
