Newtown Borough could become the 23rd municipality in the state to pass an ordinance that protects all people, despite their sexual orientation or gender identity, from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations.

The Tri-Township U15 Babe Ruth baseball team is headed to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, N.Y., where they will compete against the top 10 teams in their age group for the title. The team came out on top at the Middle Atlantic Regionals earlier this month, going undefeated in that tournament after winning the Pennsylvania state championship in July.

Hundreds of people turned out Sunday to pay respects to Sergeant First Class Kenneth B. Elwell and his family during a service at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Elwell, a Council Rock North class of 1997 graduate, died in Afghanistan last month. He was 33.
