A conditional use hearing for the Stocking Works II proposal, now known as Steeple View, has been postponed from later this month until Tuesday, March 27.

Council Rock Newtown Athletic Association said it would foot the bill for $7,000 worth of improvements at Veterans Park if it means the fields can be used this spring. But township officials say an ongoing issue with the contractor regarding the condition of the grass must be dealt with properly so the township is protected from any future liability.
An unsuccessful attempt at valet parking in Newtown Borough will be given a second chance, Borough Council decided Tuesday. Valet parking will be offered for $5 starting in March.

Gerard O’Malley announced Wednesday he will resign from Newtown Borough Council, just months after being reelected to his second term. He said a new position that comes with expanded duties, including international travel, will not provide him adequate time to dedicate to the borough.
