About 40 people turned out Monday for Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick’s youth town hall event at  Students from Council Rock, as well as other area private and public schools, attended the town hall to discuss everything from the economy to national debt and international affairs.

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday authorized the district's administration to apply for an exception to the Act 1 index. The Act 1 index is the limit a school district is permitted by state law to raise taxes. The index for the 2012-13 budget year is 1.7 percent, as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday unanimously approved extending Superintendent Mark Klein’s contract through June 2017.
