Democrat Gerard O'Malley was re-elected to the borough's council, while Republicans Larry Auerweck and Bob King won the additional seats, replacing current Democratic council members Julia Woldorf and Michael Sellers.

Colin O'Neill, 19, of Washington Crossing, and , 20, of Northampton, both waived their preliminary hearing, while 20-year-old Newtown resident Max Rosen’s hearing was continued until Nov. 28. The two who waived hearings will next face an arraignment where they will plead to charges on Dec. 9 at the courthouse in Doylestown.

The former Acme site is one step closer to being developed into The Promenade. At a Zoning Hearing Board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10, the board approved variances, including one that will allow the site to have less parking than required by the township. The developer can now take the scaled-back plans to the Township's Board of Supervisors for approval.

Democratic incumbent Phil Calabro was re-elected to Newtown Township's Board of Supervisors, and Republican Ryan Gallagher also secured a spot on the board.
