Week in Review: A Taste of Spring

End of the week weather was ideal, with springlike temperatures and plenty of sunshine

The week began with Valentine’s Day and ended with a taste of spring. With temperatures hovering in the mid-60s Friday, residents had a chance to get outdoors and enjoy a respite from the harsh winter.

Here’s our recap of the last week (Feb. 13 to Feb. 19):

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we reported on the details of the Bucks County Half Marathon, which is scheduled for April 3 at . Registration is still open. Also Tuesday, we introduced our readers to Robert Loughery, who was sworn in as Bucks County Commissioner on Feb. 3.

Wednesday: Beer lovers were likely pleased Wednesday to read about the plethora of selections at . Newtown Patch met with the restaurant’s managers to learn more about the extensive beer list, which includes 150 different selections. If you missed the story,. Thursday: The Council Rock School Board met Thursday and The first day of school next year will be August 29, 2011. The last day will be June 14, 2012 (earlier if the five built-in snow days aren’t used.) School will reopen from winter break on Jan. 2, 2012, which is a federal holiday because New Years Day falls on a Sunday.

Friday:  The region experienced gorgeous weather Friday, with high temperatures in the mid-60s. It was a welcomed diversion from the cold and snowy weather that plagued Bucks County throughout the winter. Also Friday, students debuted their performance of "Grease."  There will be another performance of the show tonight at 8 p.m. at the school’s Walton Auditorium. The play is free and open to the public.
