Here's a few options for weekend fun in the area.

 

The last weekend of February is upon us. Before March takes hold, take some time to enjoy yourself. Here are some options.

BANG YOUR HEAD, FIGHT HUNGER

Find out what's happening in Newtownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/when: School of Rock Doylestown, 135 S Main St, Doylestown, Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Student band Tears of Requiem and instructor band Hellblock 6 perform a night of hard rock to help the hungry.  Bring a canned food donation and enjoy the show.

WILLY WONKA ON STAGE

Where/when: Eugene Klinger Middle School, 1415 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Why go: Sing along with the Oompa Loompas and savor the flavor of an everlasting gobstopper!

Cost: Adults $10, students & seniors $7 

FIND A SUMMER CAMP

Where/when: Newtown Athletic Center, 209 Penns Trl, Newtown, Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Camp counselors and directors will be on hand to answer questions and play games involving their camps. Parents can see the facilities where Camp NAC is held. There will also be prizes, including chances to win a free week of camp.

Cost: Free

YOGA SOUNDSCAPE

Where/when: Yogasphere, 18 Swamp Road, Newtown, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy a relaxing yoga class combined with live Native American flute.

Cost: $20

CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL

Where/when: Bucks County Community College Newtown Campus275 Swamp Rd, Newtown, Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why go: The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County will present a concert in the Music & Multimedia Building featuring six chamber ensembles - Flute Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble, Chamber Flute Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, and the Honors String Quartet.

Cost: $6

YOGA AND WINE TASTING

Where/when: Crossing Vineyards, 1853 Wrightstown Road, Newtown, Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Enjoy a one-hour Vinyasa yoga class then savor a private tasting of Crossing's wines followed by a private tour. Bring your own yoga mat.
