Winter Weather Advisory Begins at 6 a.m.

There will be a combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain during the Monday morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Bucks County region from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. due to a chance of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Snow is expected to accumulate up to one inch. Light snow is expected to begin during the morning commute and will change over to sleet and freeing rain by the late morning. Rain is expected in the afternoon, the National Weather Service predicts.

The National Weather Service warns that the combination of icy precipitation will lead to hazardous travel conditions. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving," the weather advisory states.

Officials from Council Rock School District distributed an email to parents Sunday evening stating as of 8:30 p.m., schools would be open on the regular schedule. The email said parents would be updated if weather conditions caused a delay or school closure.
