Contested Races in Borough, Township on Tuesday's Ballot

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday is Election Day and there are several contested races on the ballot. Click here to view our complete voter's guide. 

In Newtown Township, four candidates are vying for two seats on the Board of Supervisors. Democrats Jen Dix and Judy Norkin are running against Republicans Mike Gallagher and Kyle Davis.

In Newtown Borough, there are four seats up for grabs on Borough Council. In ward one, Democrat Tara Grunde McLaughlin is up against Republican Marc Waldinger for a two-year term.

Democrats Perry Warren and Chris Amazeen face Republicans Robert Walker and Charles B. Machion for a four-year term in ward one.

In ward two, Christopher J. Brill, a Democrat, is running against Republican Chris Gusty.

Voters in the Council Rock School District will also be asked to weigh in on a referendum question related to school taxes. The question is “Do you favor eliminating the occupation tax by increasing the maximum rate of the earned income tax from 1 percent to 1.17 percent with the requirement that the increase be used to eliminate the occupation tax?”

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  All non-essential County offices will be closed on Tuesday for the election. There is no school for Council Rock School District students.
