Art for Relief at George School

George School’s ninth annual Art for Relief, a student-organized night of art to raise money for relief efforts, will be held at George School on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Admission is free and open to the public; donations are encouraged. Please let us know if you plan to join us.

The evening will begin with an art show and silent auction at 6:00 p.m. in the meetinghouse and conclude with a performance at 7:30 p.m. in Walton Center Auditorium.

Each year, Art for Relief chooses a charity to support through the funds raised by the event. All proceeds from this year’s event will go to The Teapot Trust, a charity that works to provide art therapy for children with chronic illness.

“Our mission is to support their efforts so that children may continue to express their feelings through art in a way that allows them to gain confidence and cope with their sickness,” said Ali Sacchi ’14, one of the student organizers of the event.

The art show will feature work produced and donated by students, faculty, and friends. The silent auction will include artwork contributed by local professional artists, along with other items donated by local businesses, alumni, and parents. T-shirts also will be sold at the event.
