Crossing Vineyards’ Concert Series Offers Music, Spirits for Every Palate

Three new acts, spanning bluegrass, country and jazz, are set to take the stage as part of Crossing Vineyards' Summer Wine and Music Series, which this year is being sponsored by Celebrity Cruises.

To get the (dance) party started, the winery has enlisted help from fan favorites, The Fabulous Greaseband, whose performance on May 30 kicks off the seven-concert series.

"I think they're our biggest draw," Crossing Vineyards owner Christine Carroll said of the rock 'n' roll dance band whose repertoire spans six decades.

"We have people just clamoring for these shows," The Fabulous Greaseband band leader Harry Pasquito said. "We sell out there every time."

The seven-piece band - known for performing rock 'n' roll favorites from the '50s through the '90s - has played alongside Bruce Springsteen, Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, Cyndi Lauper and The Spinners, among others.

"It can't get any better - timeless classics and some great wine," Pasquito said.

Since 2006, Crossing Vineyards has coordinated with Celebrity Cruises to offer wine-themed trips to Italy, France, New Zealand, Australia and South America, among other vacation spots.

Celebrity's sponsorship of the Summer Wine and Concert Series is a natural extension of the relationship the Upper Makefield winery has developed with the cruise company, Carroll said.

"We began to see that there was a real common ground," she said. "Our customers have been used to seeing us and Celebrity together since 2006."
