SHELL SHOCKED Documentary Screening in Trenton

Shell Shocked, the award-winning film documentary on the impact of violence on urban youth, will be screened at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Trenton. Free and open to the public, the 54-minute film, which focuses on the youth in New Orleans, shows the kind of trauma from gun violence experienced in many cities across New Jersey, including Trenton.  Immediately following the film, its director, John Richie, will participate in a discussion with the NJ Million Mom March; UrbanPromise; UIH Family Partners; parents of a young gun violence victims; and Bishop William Stokes. A Q&A session will follow. The program is co-sponsored by the Mercer County Million Mom March Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence; Trinity Episcopal Theater; the Right Reverend William H. Stokes, Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of NJ; UIH Family Partners; Urban Promise; Coalition for Peace Action; and Mothers Against Violence. Questions prior to the event may be directed to 609-882-3711 or mercermmm@gmail.com

Caution: This documentary could prove stressful to those who have experienced gun violence, especially those who have lost a loved one.  Middle and high school students may attend at their parents' discretion.
