Up-and-Coming Nashville Singer to Make PA Debut in Bucks County

You may have heard her tunes on the E!TV, Oxygen, MTV, or VH1 networks. If you haven't yet heard Jessica Martindale's velvety voice wrapped around some pretty amazing folk/pop/blues/country instrumentation, you will have your chance to hear - and see - her on Aug. 8 at Crossing Vineyards in Upper Makefield Township.

Martindale will play the sixth of seven concerts as part of the winery's Summer Wine and Music Series, which concludes on Sept. 12.

Martindale is on the road supporting her new EP, "Soon, We'll Dance," as part of a North American tour, which is taking the Nashville singer from New York City all the way to Napa, Calif.

"I've never been to Pennsylvania," Martindale said from her Nashville home. "I'm so excited. It's really close to New Jersey. It's really close to New York City."

While in the area, Martindale said she plans to take in the sights, making stops in Philadelphia and possibly a local radio station. During a recent 300-station radio tour, Martindale said 289 of the stations she visited picked up her song. She said she hopes to have it played on some local stations too.

In the winter, her song "Go" made the semi-finals for the International Songwriting Competition. Around that same time, Martindale was chosen as Made in Network's Artist in Residence. As part of the 24-hour songwriting competition, she wrote "Huckleberry."

"They gave me a scene and I had to write a song within 24 hours," she said. "It was super fun."

Has "Huckleberry" been added to her repertoire?

"I'll probably sing it" on tour, she said. "Thankfully I like what I came up with."

The Summer Wine and Music Series, which this year is being sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, will conclude with The Fabulous Greaseband on Sept. 12.
