Your Guide to Spooky Halloween Happenings in Newtown

From pumpkin picking to trick-or-treating, here's a guide to fun Halloween events in Newtown.

What: Newtown Parks and Recreation is hosting a flashlight Halloween Hunt for children ages 11 to 14. The event will feature trick-or-treating, a costume contest and snacks.

When/where: Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Roberts Ridge Park, 286 Frost Ln.

What: Newtown's annual Halloween Parade features a costume contest for various categories, plus refreshments at the end.

When/where: Oct. 26 starting at The Stocking Works. (Parade ends at Newtown Theatre.) Registration begins at 9 a.m.; the parade starts at 10 a.m.

Cost: Free

KIDS PARADE

What: Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to a Halloween Parade, hosted by Newtown Township Parks and Recreation. Children will visit various township departments, including the police, emergency services, public works, administration and more. There will be trick-or-treating so bring a bag for snacks.

When/where: Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Newtown Township Building

Cost: Free, registration required

PUMPKINFEST

What: Shady Brook Farm’s annual PumpkinFest features wagon rides, pumpkin picking, a corn maze, inflatables, live entertainment and more

When/where: Open daily through Halloween, click here for hours

Cost: $15 per person
