Borough Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 6

The annual Christmas tree lighting takes place Friday, Dec. 6 at the Newtown Firehouse on Liberty Street

The borough's annual Christmas tree lighting will be held Friday, Dec. 6 at the Newtown Firehouse on Liberty Street. After the tree is lit, the Santa House will open.

Children can meet Santa and have their picture taken. Santa will also be accepting visitors on Sunday, Dec 8 after the holiday parade.

This will be the 11th year Santa welcomes Newtown's kids to share their holiday wishes. In 2003, a group of Newtown Borough businesses arranged for the Santa House to be built by a carpentry class at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology.
