Midnight Madness is Friday, Local Businesses Offering Specials

The shopping event coincides with the borough's Christmas Tree lighting event, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Newtown Borough shops will be offering special deals, refreshments and giveaways during the annual Midnight Madness event, which is Friday. State Street businesses, including restaurants and retailers will stay open late and offer discounts.

Here's a list of participating businesses and what sorts of specials and giveaways they'll be offering patrons:

  • Frank DeRito Clothier will be open until midnight and will offer increasingly larger discounts throughout the evening:  25 percent off from 6 to 8pm, 35 percent off from 8 to 10 pm; 40 percent off from 10 to 11pm and 50 percent off from 11 to midnight. There will also be wine and hors d'oeuvres.
  • Salve Regina Catholic Books & Gifts will be open until midnight with a wide selection of Advent and Christmas items, including cards, wreaths, candles, nativities, ornaments and more.
  • TIS Herself 1898, 130 S. State St, will offer 10 percent off plus there will be a raffle for a $50 gift certificate.
  • Countryside Frames will offer 20 percent off custom framing and will hold a drawing for 50 percent off on certain frames for custom framing over $200.
  • One-Ten South Salon will be holding a new product launch party at 7 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, giveaways and more.
