Volunteers Needed for Newtown's Holiday Parade

More than 50 groups and 1,800 people participated in the 2012 Newtown Holiday Parade, which attracted thousands of spectators.

Organizers of Newtown's annual holiday parade are seeking volunteers.

The 9th annual parade, this year called McCaffrey’s Supermarket Holiday Parade, will be held Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. If you’re interested in helping that day, contact Contact Theresa Phayre at theresap@8ww.com or 215-968-1661.

The parade will feature local groups, musicians, fire trucks and much more.

The parade starts at The Stocking Works on South State Street and travels north to Washington Avenue. From there it goes down Sycamore Street and ends at Durham Road.
