L. Taylor Milnor, 83, Former Township Constable

Services for L. Taylor Milnor are Thursday.

L. Taylor Milnor of Newtown passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Pickering Manor Home, Newtown. He was 83.

He was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the only child of the late Leon Hibbs Milnor and Jane Hutchinson Milnor.

Taylor was a graduate of Council Rock High School, Class of 1947, where he excelled in football and baseball.

He retired from Strick Trailers in Fairless Hills, where he was a corporate traffic manager for 31 years.

Taylor was an active member of the community for many years. He was a Newtown Township constable for 13 years. An avid hunter and sportsman, Taylor was an active member of Emilie Perseverance Company, past president and charter member of the Jericho Mountain Bowmen in Upper Makefield Township, and past president of the Tink Wig Rod and Gun Club, and Bear Spring Hunting Club in Pike County. He was a former coach of Council Rock Senior Little League and went on to coach Northampton girls' softball for seven years.

Taylor is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Stackhouse Milnor. They were married for 59 years.

He will be sadly missed by his three daughters and their husbands, Jane Milnor-Smith (Kevin) of Wrightstown, Patricia Oyer (James) of Jenkintown, and Laurie Campagna (Peter) of Chalfont. Taylor also is survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Oyer (Halley), Michelle Oyer O'Neill (Christopher), Taylor Steele, Brian Steele, Connor Steele and Troy Smith.

The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for the love and support Taylor received. The family also wishes to thank the nurses, aides, and all the staff at Pickering Manor Home for their friendship and support, and the loving care they gave Taylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to Taylor's life celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 E. Washington Ave., Newtown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, with interment to follow in Newtown Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial contributions in Taylor's name be made to Pickering Manor Home, 226 N. Lincoln Ave., Newtown, PA 18940. Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, Newtown.
