Mary Irene Sowerbutts died October 26 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, Penna. Mary was an original resident of Levittown, moving into the Junewood section in 1956, with her husband Bill. In 2000, Mary and Bill retired to Twining Village, in Southampton.

Mary was born in Fitchburg, MA. on April 13, 1928, to John and Louise (Zelazo) Moryl, polish immigrants to the US. In 1946, she graduated from Fitchburg High School and worked as an executive secretary.

She and Bill married in 1951. Mary then worked at home raising her family and maintaining her home and gardens. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William "Bill" Sowerbutts in 2012, and her brothers Frank Moryl of Westminster MA, and Jack Moryl of Huntington Station NY.

Mary's funeral will be held at St. Bede's Catholic Church, 1071 Holland Road, Southampton PA on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be at Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown, PA on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 2 PM to 4 PM and from 6 PM to 8 PM.
