2011 Second Busiest Year In Lingohocken's History

The Lingohocken Fire Company services Wrightstown, Buckingham and Upper Makefield townships.

 

The Lingohocken Fire Company, which serves all of Wrightstown and parts of Buckingham and Upper Makefield townships, has released its 2011 report. 

Representatives from the fire company said 2011 was the second busiest year in its 98-year history. Lingohocken responded to 217 emergencies and conducted 28 chief’s investigations and pump details.

Chief’s investigations include everything from a malfunctioning fire alarm, to a cat in a tree and a body removal.  "Despite this workload, our firefighters experienced only two minor first aid injuries during the year and there were no injuries or deaths by fire suffered by civilians in Lingohocken’s coverage area,” the report said. 

According to the report, 76 calls were from Buckingham Township, 81 were from Wrightstown Township and 31 were from Upper Makefield. Lingohocken also provided occasional assistance in Newtown, Doylestown, Northampton and other surrounding communities.

In addition, the fire company led or participated in a number of community events, including a Block Party in the Windsor Square Development, the July 4th Bike Parade in Devonshire Estates, the July 4th fireworks in Peddler’s Village and a Firefighter’s Day at the Heritage Townhouses in Furlong.
