21-Year-Old Arrested For Selling Drugs to Undercover Officer

July 22

As a result of an ongoing investigation, 21 year-old Jonathan Straubel of Lederach was arrested and charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.  During the undercover investigation in June, Straubel sold cocaine and then in July he sold ecstasy to undercover investigators.  He has also been charged with criminal use of a communication facility because he used his cell phone to arrange the sales.

Monday, August 15

Shortly after 8 p.m., police were dispatched to the Second Street Pub for a complaint of loud music being played.  The responding officer spoke with a member of the band and he agreed to lower the volume.  Police received a second complaint around 8:50 p.m. and upon arrival the officer found that the band was packing up for the night.

Tuesday, August 16

Police responded to the area of Parkview Way around 3:50 p.m. for a report that there were juveniles riding dirt bikes on the roadway.  The responding officers located the teens and advised them that they should not be operating the bikes on the street or sidewalks.  The juveniles apologized for their actions and the officer also spoke with a parent that was present. 

Thursday, August 18

Just after 3 p.m. a resident of Canterbury Court reported that she lost her debit card in the beginning of August and just learned that there were unauthorized transactions.  The victim reported that the card had been used to purchase gas on two separate dates for a total in excess of $145.  The cardholder canceled the account. 

Police were dispatched to the area of Atwood Court at approximately 5:35 p.m. for a complaint of a man soliciting business for siding and windows without a permit.  Officers checked the area, but did not locate the subject. 

Around 5:45 p.m., police received a complaint that there were several juveniles on bicycles in the skate park.  The responding officer made contact with four male juveniles at the edge of the concrete pad for the skate park.  They were advised of the park rules and left the property without incident.  

Friday August 19

Police were dispatched to Dunkin Donuts on Richboro Road around 11 a.m. when an employee called to report that report that someone had left several credit cards in the establishment.  The responding officer took possession of the cards and determined that the owner lives on Cambridge Lane in Newtown.  The credit cards and other personal items were returned to the owner. 

At approximately 2:45 pm a resident of Bensalem Township came to police headquarters to report that she had entered into a contract with iGlobe Travel, previously located on University Drive in Newtown Township.  The victim explained to the officer that the company was to provide them with discount travel, but had vacated the business location without providing any forwarding information.  The victim further stated that she had paid approximately $2,000 to the company.  Detectives will handle the follow-up investigation. 

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., a resident of Union Street in Newtown Crossing reported a suspicious male had parked his motorcycle in front of her house and was standing on her front porch.  When police arrived they made contact with the man, who was standing in the driveway to the home.  The subject provided his identification and told the officer that he had been detoured off of Richboro Road due to a traffic accident.  When it began to rain heavily, he pulled over to call someone to pick him up and went under the porch roof to make a call.   The homeowner was advised of the situation and was relieved by the outcome. 

Saturday, August 20

At around 12:50 p.m., police responded to the Wrightstown Country Store for a complaint that a vehicle had been parked in front of “no parking signs” in the lot and walked towards the Grange Fair.  The responding officer explained to the business owner that she could have the vehicle towed since it was on private property or he could issue a parking ticket to the owner.  The parking ticket was issued.  

Sunday, August 21

Police were dispatched to Canterbury Court at approximately 1:25 p.m. for a complaint of an abandoned vehicle parked there.  The responding officer determined that the vehicle had a current registration and inspection and was parked in front of the owner’s home.  No further police action was necessary.
