Arrest Made in Piccolo Trattoria Burglary

Police have charged a Philadelphia man for burglarizing the restaurant shortly after 4 a.m. on June 25.

A Philadelphia man has been arrested in conjunction with a burglary that occurred in June at Piccolo Trattoria.

Thomas Kissleback of Philadelphia was arrested Monday, Newtown Township Police announced. Kissleback’s arrest was made through efforts by multiple agencies, Newtown Township police said.

Police said a search warrant execution of Kissleback’s home and car, a 1995 Oldsmobile, resulted in authorities finding several pieces of evidence, including cash registers, clothing, a fiberglass hammer and imbedded safety glasses.

The restaurant was burglarized shortly after 4 a.m. on June 25. When officers responded to the alarm at the restaurant, the window of the front door was broken and two tables had been overturned. The cash register on the front counter had been ripped out and removed.

The register, valued at $3,000 and containing $350 cash, was stolen.

A surveillance video later released by authorities shows a man, who police now say is Kissleback, yanking the register from the restaurant’s counter.

What an idiot. With hundreds of pizza shops in Philly, why'd he have to come all the way out to Newtown? A a crime like this around here gets as much police priority as the Simpson murders.
