Bear Sightings Reported in Wrightstown

Several Wrightstown residents and members of the township’s Public Works Department reported seeing a bear this morning.

Several bear sightings were reported Tuesday morning in Wrightstown.

According to Newtown Township Police Department, several Wrightstown residents and members of the township’s Public Works Department reported seeing a bear this morning.

The bear was spotted on Cedar Lane, Cherry Lane and most recently on Mill Creek Road, police said. “It appears to be one lone animal wandering and has not disturbed anything or anyone,” an announcement from police said.

Any new words on the bear? I am freaked and need to know where it is.

Black bears aren't that bad they tend to be more shy and scared of you and run away. Unless you interfere between mom and cubs. I still don't understand why the Patch or anywhere else has yet posted any DO's and DON'Ts around black bears. It's really not that complicated. Just don't leave trash all out for them to get lured in by and they will leave you alone also keep an eye on your pets. And don't worry it will most likely end up with a "broken leg" like all the others mysteriously had since people (law enforcement) don't know how to handle them around here.

Anyone hear anything else on the bear? I don't want to see it get harmed in any way I just need to know it wherabouts. Such a shame if it can't just get back to a safe place. Law inforcement should know how to handle ANY situation. They are trained right?
