Abandoned Bike Found on Sycamore St, Thieves Target Cars, Police Say

Also on Monday, a resident of Rosetree Court called police at 5 a.m. to report that when he was leaving his house to go to work, he saw an unknown young woman inside one of his cars.

Police said a Magna bicycle was found Monday in a wooded area behind a Sycamore Street business.

According to police a Upper Silver Lake Road resident called police shortly before 1 p.m. to eport that her daughter found the bike.  An officer retrieved the bike. It is being stored at police headquarters until the owner is located.

Also on Monday, a resident of Rosetree Court called police at 5 a.m. to report that when he was leaving his house to go to work, he saw an unknown young woman inside one of his cars parked in the driveway. He told police the woman ran when she saw him. When he checked his car, he said a pair of boxing gloves valued at $80 had been stolen. Officers made contact with a woman nearby, but she did not have any of the stolen property in her possession.

A Heather Court resident on Monday also reported a theft from her car. She said someone had entered her unlocked vehicle overnight and took $45 cash.
