Caulk Writers Damage Barn Windows & More

Monday, August 13

Shortly before 11 a.m., a resident of Washington Avenue in Wrightstown reported that someone use caulk to write on two new windows that had been installed in his barn. The victim could not provide any information on who may have caused the damage.  

Tuesday, August 14

A resident of Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown came to police headquarters at approximately 2:30 p.m. to report that she has been receiving threatening texts from a known subject. The victim was advised not to respond to any of the messages, to avoid any contact with the suspect and contact police with any future harassing incidents. 

Shortly after 4 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Birch Court to take a report of a theft. The victim reported that she discovered $140.00 in cash had been taken from her home and suspected that a cleaner was responsible. She provided the officer with the contact information for the cleaner. The officer contacted the suspect, a 22 year-old Philadelphia resident, while speaking with the officer the suspect admitted to taking the money. The victim decided that if the money was returned she didn’t want to press charges against the 22-year-old. 

Wednesday, August 15

While on patrol on Stoopville Road near Durham Road at approximately 12:40 a.m. an officer observed a motorist swerve off of the roadway striking a bush and finally coming to an uncontrolled stop off of the roadway and into the ditch area. The driver, a 19-year-old resident of Wrightstown told the officer that he may have been driving too fast on the wet road. The driver was not injured but a tow truck was needed to pull the vehicle out of the ditch. Damage to the car was minor and it was able to be driven from the scene. 

Police were dispatched to the area of Rushland and Sackettsford Roads at approximately 5:30 a.m. for a report of a disabled vehicle with front-end damage.  The responded officer located the vehicle the windows were open and the air bags had deployed, but no one was nearby. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the situation remains under investigation.  

A resident of Atkinson Lane came to police headquarters at approximately 12:20 pm to report fraudulent activity on his debit card account. The victim reported that his bank notified him of suspicious transactions on his account for a total of $180, since the card was in the victim’s possession and the charges were not authorized the card was cancelled and the bank will continue to monitor his accounts. 

Thursday, August 16

Just before 5 a.m., police responded to a residence on Parkview Way when the resident reported that someone had tried to get into her house through the back door.  She was awakened by a noise in the kitchen and her neighbor's motion-activated light, but did not see or hear anything else.  The caller did not see anyone and police checked the area of her home and the neighborhood for anyone or anything suspicious, with negative results. 

A resident of Willow Court came to police headquarters during the afternoon hours to report that she had been the victim of a wire fraud. The 22-year-old explained that she received an email about being employed as Mystery Shopper Position in the area. The email included what turned out to be counterfeit money orders with instructions to cash them, shop at specific stores and evaluate the experiences and return the balance of the cash through Western Union to an address in London. The victim was notified by her bank that she is responsible for nearly $7,000.00 in loss from her checking account. 

Saturday, August 18

At 1:50 a.m., an officer observed a motorist on Newtown Yardley Road commit multiple traffic violations and stopped the motorist. At the stop the driver, a 20 year-old resident of Warwick Court in Newtown Township was arrested and taken to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing. Charges of DUI are pending the results of the blood results.    

Just before 4 a.m., police observed a motorist with an expired registration traveling on the Newtown Bypass. The motorist was stopped and it was determined that the driver, 24-year-old Darwin Duran of Andrea Drive in Bensalem, did not have a valid driver’s license. Duran received two citations charging him with the two violations and told not to drive the vehicle. 

A resident of Lake View Drive called police around shortly after 5 p.m. to report two credit cards were missing from his wallet that he left in his car. The victim told police that when he discovered that the cards were missing he called to cancel the accounts and was informed that an unknown party had used his card and purchased $2,000.00 worth of merchandise in Delaware.   

Monday, August 20

While on patrol on Sycamore Street an officer observed an unoccupied vehicle in the Carl Sedia Park around 2:00 a.m. As the officer was checking the car the 19 year-old owner of the car approached the officer and explained that he and his friends were playing baseball. The responding officer advised them that they are not allowed in the Township Park after nightfall.  The subjects left the area without further incident.

While monitoring traffic on Second Street Pike in Wrightstown Township at approximately 3:40 a.m. police saw a motorist traveling at a high rate of speed and stopped the motorist. The driver, an 18-year-old male resident of Golden Gate Drive in Northampton, was subsequently arrested and McDonald was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where blood to be drawn for testing. McDonald was released while at the hospital and charges of DUI are pending the results of the blood work.
