Copper Thieves Target PECO Substation

A PECO employee told police someone stole 25 feet of copper cable from the Linton Hill Road substation.

Newtown Township Police Department detectives are investigating a theft of copper cable from a PECO substation.

According to officials, police were dispatched Sunday afternoon to the PECO substation on Linton Hill Road after it was reported that 25 feet of copper cable was stolen

The responding officer met with the PECO employee who discovered that a portion of the fence to the rear of the substation had been cut, allowing access to the copper. It unknown when the theft occurred, police said.
