Doylesown Woman Allegedly Threatened to Kill Officers, Police Say

The woman went on a rant at Wednesday's Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting shortly after allegedly threatening to kill two police officers and a borough secretary in Langhorne.

A Doylestown woman who went on a rant at Wednesday’s Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting was later arrested for allegedly threatening to kill two borough police officers and a borough secretary in Langhorne.

According to a report by the Intelligencer, Tara McCafferty, 52, was arrested after she became disorderly at Langhorne Borough Hall Wednesday evening. She told borough officials she had a gun and was using obscenities, the Intelligencer reported.

The incident in Langhorne occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was charged in connection with the incident Friday, according to the Intelligencer.

Less than three hours later, McCafferty came to the Newtown Township Municipal Building during the board of supervisors meeting and accosted township officials during a review of a conditional use application for De Lorenzo’s Pizza.

McCafferty threatened to sue the township for undisclosed reasons, used obscenities and vulgar language and eventually was asked to leave by the township manager. Initially, she refused to stop speaking but left at the repeated demands of Manager Kurt Ferguson.

McCafferty has been charged with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident in Langhorne
