Driver Fills Up Without Paying, Power Washer Stolen: Police

Recent activity as reported by Newtown Township Police.

Newtown Township Police reported the following recent incidents: 

Monday, June 24

At approximately 1:15 p.m., police responded to the Colonial Commons development for a report of a suspicious vehicle.  The responding officer located the vehicle and the female occupant who told the officer she was selling educational books and provided him with her valid solicitor’s permit.

Around 3:25 p.m., a contractor working at a home on Matthews Lane in Wrightstown reported that a power washer was stolen from the front of the property while he was working in the back. The victim didn’t provide a value of the machine at the time the report was filed. 

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., police received a report that a motorist filled his car with $84 worth of gas at a service station on Newtown-Yardley Road and left without paying.  The owner of the station will provide video from the security cameras in attempt to identify the suspect.

Police were dispatched to the area of Leedom Way for a report of a male subject going door-to-door asking for money for college.  The responding officer made contact with the subject who explained that he is selling magazines to raise money for college. He also provided the officer with his valid solicitor’s permit.
