FBI Seeks 'Armed Serial Bank Robber'

The FBI is seeking the public's help in finding a serial bank robber who they believe has robbed four area banks since June, including one in Wrightstown.

The man who robbed a Wrightstown bank in September is believed to be involved in at least three other similar robberies, according to information provided today by the FBI.

Officials are asking the public’s help in finding the serial bank robber, who they say is armed and dangerous.

In late September, a masked man stole approximately $7,000 from First Federal Bank in Wrightstown just before it closed one Friday evening. Officials say that same man is believed to be responsible for four robberies, the most recent of which occurred last month in Ambler at the PNC Bank on South Bethlehem Pike.

Police believe the subject, described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build, is also responsible for a robbery at Colonial American Bank in Horsham on June 8 and the Jan. 18 robbery of Wells Fargo Bank on Stony Hill Road in Yardley.

In each robbery, the subject has covered his face with a black ski mask, or a white sack with eye holes cut out, police say.

In three of the four robberies, he has been dressed in a jacket and tie; in the fourth, a gray hooded sweatshirt and sneakers, according to information from the FBI. He’s also been known to wear latex gloves, sunglasses or safety glasses and a large-brimmed straw hat, FBI officials say.

He has displayed a small black semi-automatic handgun, sometimes in a shoulder holster, according to the FBI.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information about him is urged to call the FBI at 215-641-8910. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
