Four Charged In Two Separate Incidents At The Green Parrot

Recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

Friday, May 13

Shortly after 11:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the Green Parrot Restaurant on Sycamore Street for a report of fight in progress.  As the officers arrived at the location, they were flagged down by a bouncer from the establishment, who told the officers that a female who had assaulted a male inside the bar was walking towards South Eagle Road.  After interviewing the subjects involved and witnesses police determined that 23 year-old Natalie Holman of Brighton Place in Newtown had dumped a beer on a 21 year-old male patron then smashed the beer can on his head causing injuries.  Holman slapped the bouncer as he was trying to escort her out of the building. She also approached a 21-year-old bystander and slapped her and grabbed her hair, dragging her down the stairs.  The male victim, a resident of Newtown Township was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.  Holman is being charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, and public drunkenness.

Another incident occurred at the Green Parrot later that weekend. Police were dispatched to the location around 1:25 a.m. and when they arrived, they learned that an employee attempted to stop a patron later identified as 25-year-old Karim Assous from leaving with a glass of beer.  Assous became physical and knocked into his friend, 25-year-old Matthew Laskowski. Both men began to briefly struggle with the employee, and then walked across the street. 21-year-old Christopher Dunkerly began to shouting at Laskowski and Assous and Laskowski started to fight with Dunkerly.  Laskowski of Eagle Mount Drive in Richboro has been charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and harassment. Assous of Michael Road in Holland and Dunkerly were each charged with disorderly conduct.

Just after 7:00 a.m., a resident of Susanna Way reported a motorist had been driving around the neighborhood. As the officer was on his way to the call, he saw the described vehicle turning onto Stoopville Road and stopped the motorist.  The female operator told him that she was attempting to return some belongings to her ex-boyfriend who lives in the neighborhood.  The driver’s identification was checked before she was advised to leave the area. 

At approximately 10:15 a.m., a resident of Gablewing Circle reported fraudulent activity on her debit card.  The investigation has been referred to detectives for follow up. 

While on patrol around 2:15 p.m., an officer observed several juveniles loitering in the area of Sarcone’s Deli on South Eagle Road.  He asked the teens to leave the area, which they did without further incident.  

Shortly after 4 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint that a vehicle parked on the corner of Fountain Farm Lane and Kanon Court was creating a problem.  The responding officer observed the car in question and noted that it was in a legal parking space.  No further police action was needed.

Wednesday, June 8

At approximately 1:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the cul-de-sac on Lotus Place for a report of an occupied vehicle that had been parked with the engine running form more than an hour. The responding officer made contact with the two adult males in the car and learned that one of the men lived in the neighborhood and they were just talking.  They were advised to relocate. No further police action was required.  

Thursday, June 9

A resident of Atkinson Lane reported unknown person accessed her bank account to pay a Comcast bill.  The victim told police that her Blackberry phone valued at $200 had been stolen in May and the device contained personal information.  The victim closed her bank accounts and the situation remains under investigation

Friday, June 10

An officer located two backpacks in the parking lot behind the 7-11 at around 7:30 p.m.  There was a large group of juveniles nearby, so the officer asked if it belonged to any of them. None of the juveniles claimed to own it.  The officer checked the bags looking for some identification, but instead found that one of the bags contained a marijuana smoking pipe and blunt roller, and the other bag contained a large 40oz bottle of beer. The officer disbursed the group and confiscated the contraband for disposal.

Saturday, June 11

Just before 8 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of Churchill Lane for a complaint that there were two juveniles riding dirt bikes up and down the road.  The responding officers checked the area, but the juveniles were no longer there.

Around 9:20 p.m., police received a complaint that there was a group of unruly juvenile kids creating a disturbance in the parking lot of Wendy’s.  The teens were gone when police arrived. 

Police were dispatched to the Newtown Athletic club at approximately 9:45 p.m. for a report of a male subject attending the teen dance that was under the influence of alcohol and creating a problem for the staff.  When the officers arrived they found the 17 year-old subject from Philadelphia on the floor and unable to communicate.  An ambulance was summoned and transported the teen to Saint Mary Medical Center.  He will receive a citation in the mail charging him with underage drinking.

Police responded to Balsam Court around 10:10 p.m. for a complaint that a group of teens were running around between the houses and disturbing neighbors.  The responding officers located the group of 7 to 12 year-olds, who were playing manhunt and apologized for the noise. They told the officers they would go inside.

Sunday, June 12

Police received a call around 10:15 a.m. from a woman who reported that she parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the New Life Christian Church around 8:30 a.m. and when she got back to her car she found that someone had smashed her driver side car window and stolen her Nikon camera, which was on the passenger side floor.  The approximate value of the camera is $250 and the victim will notify police if she has a serial number or other information about the camera.
