Governor Signs Execution Warrant for Officer Gregg's Killer

Robert Anthony Flor, who was sentenced to death for killing Newtown Borough Police Officer Brian Gregg, is scheduled for execution by lethal injection on Sept. 29.

The execution date for Robert Anthony Flor, who shot and killed Newtown Borough Police Officer Brian Gregg, has been set for Sept. 29.

Governor Tom Corbett on Wednesday signed the execution warrant for Flor, who was sentenced to death for killing Gregg. He will be executed by lethal injection, according to information from the Governor’s office.

On the night of Sept. 29, 2005, police took Flor into custody for suspected drunken driving. Flor was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for testing. While there, Flor grabbed another policeman’s weapon and started shooting, wounding two others and killing Gregg, 46.

Flor, formerly of Bedminster, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in October 2006 for the shooting death of Gregg. A jury sentenced Flor to death the following month.

Flor, now 44, is a prisoner at the State Correctional Institution at Greene.

The warrant signed today is Corbett’s fifth execution warrant.

I think on that evening we should all gather for a candle light moment in Brian's Gregg park. To pay respects and honor Brian. He was our friend and our protector... and is finaly going to know that the person that took him from his family and friends will pay for his crime.
