UPDATED: Second Street Pike Reopened After Head-On Collision

The two-car accident occurred this afternoon in Wrightstown Township.

Second Street Pike has been reopened as of about 3 p.m. Wednesday after a two-car, head-on collision closed the road for more than an hour.

According to police, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision when one car crossed over the center line.  Two occupants - one adult man and one adult woman -- were in one car. The other car had one occupant, an adult female. All three were transported to area hospitals with what appeared to be serious injuries, police said.

Police have not yet released information regarding the names of those involved in the accident.

A two-car, head-on collision on Second Street Pike has closed a portion of the road in Wrightstown Township.

At about 1:40 p.m., emergency responders called for assistance from the fire department to extricate two people, who were pinned and trapped as a result of the accident.

Second Street Pike is currently closed from Swamp Road to the Wrightstown Township Municipal Building.

Information regarding the victims' status and indentification was not immediately available.
