Northampton Police say a 25-year-old resident stabbed his father last week because he asked him to turn the music down.
Police have charged Aleksey Chaban of Holland with aggravated assault after the incident at the family’s Independence Drive house, Northampton Township Police said.
According to a report in the Bucks County Courier Times, the man’s father, Sergey Chaban, told police that when he asked his son to turn the music down, he instead stabbed him in the forearm.
When police arrived, they were met at the door by the 47-year-old victim, who had a laceration on his arm and was bleeding. The victim said his son was upstairs in a bedroom.
When officers approached the younger Chaban, he was in possession of the knife and refused to drop it, police said. He was then Tasered and taken in to custody, Northampton Township Police said. Sergey Chaban was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center for treatment.
Chaban was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $125,000 bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 22.
