Sandy rolled through with strong winds and rain, leaving thousands in the Newtown area without power. As a result, most local businesses were without power and unable to provide customers with a hot coffee or warm breakfast.
But the few that had power had one more thing - lines out the door.
The Dunkin' Donuts on Richboro Road was one of the few places this morning in Newtown to buy coffee and breakfast. Dozens of people lined up, with customers waiting in the sprinking rain for their chance to pick up some donuts and a cup of joe.
The drive-through line at Wendy's was at least 20 cars deep.
Sweet Pea announced on Facebook that it was opening at noon. They serve coffee and lattes as well as ice cream.
As of 11 a.m., Starbucks was closed due to a lack of power. Additionally, these places that sell coffee were also closed:
