Lower Makefield Police Chase Ends in Crash on Bridge

Lower Makefiled police are charging the driver of a vehicle that attempted to flee and crashed in the process.

 

The following arrest information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction.

On Sept. 14 at 2:13 a.m., responded to a one-vehicle crash on the Calhoun Street Bridge from Morrisville to Trenton.

Police said a vehicle driven by Stephen Jones, 28, of Trenton, was fleeing from Lower Makefield police when it attempted to cross the bridge. The pursuit was terminated before the vehicle entered the bridge.

Police said the vehicle lost control and struck the north side of the bridge rails, crossed both lanes of travel and struck the bridge rails on the south side.

After the crash, Jones and two passengers fled on foot. All three were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported.

According to a report, Lower Makefield police will be filing charges against Jones.
