Man Found Sleeping at Bypass Traffic Light Arrested for DUI

A Morrisville man was arrested for DUI Saturday after he was found sleeping and slouched over in his car at a traffic light on the Newtown Bypass, Newtown Township police said. The incident happened around midnight, according to police.

When police made contact with the man, Huguens Jean, 24, of Morrisville, they said he woke up and drove away. He didn’t immediately stop his car when the emergency lights and siren were activated, according to police.

“He was eventually stopped in the area of Lower Silver Lake Road at Woodburn Road,” according to information provided by Newtown Township police.

While speaking with Jean, the officer reported he could smell alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were administered and Jean was arrested and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center, where blood was drawn for testing.

He was later transported to his residence and released.  He will receive a summons in the mail, police said.
