Multiple Bear Sightings Reported in Newtown

There were multiple sightings of a black bear around Newtown this morning, witnesses tell Patch.
Newtown Township Police Department confirmed they received a report of a bear sighting in the Rain Tree Development at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday. Officers checked the area, but did not locate the bear.
One reader told Patch they spotted a bear in the Ridings of Newtown Tuesday morning. 
A Newtown Borough business owner told Patch there were multiple sightings in the borough.
A resident told Patch she was running on Linton Hill Road toward Washington Crossing Road when police told her to turn back due to the bear sightings.
