Mystery Snowball Breaks Car Window, Copper Theft Reported, Police Say

According to Newtown Police, a man called Tuesday after his window was smashed by a snowball while driving on Swamp Road.

The snow caused more than just a slippery ride for one local driver.

According to police, a man called Tuesday after his window was smashed while driving on Swamp Road near the Village at Newtown South Shopping Center.

The driver told police that shortly before 5:30 p.m., his driver’s side window had been hit and shattered as he was passing Sherwin Williams paint store. The driver told police he thought the damage was caused from a snowball that was thrown at his car. However, the driver was not able to see anyone who may have been involved, police said.

Also on Tuesday, police were dispatched at approximately 2:45 p.m. to a vacant house on Second Street Pike in Wrightstown Township to investigate a reported copper theft. According to police, copper heater pipes had been stolen from the basement and first floor. Police did not provide a value of the stolen copper.

It's good to see the $50 window has more coverage than the copper victim who most likely lost thousands of dollars. Copper theft is growing more and more and no one is safe. Check out AirConditionerAlarms.com for more information on protecting or preventing yourselves from copper theft.
