Philly Man Charged with $5,000 Burglary

Ryan Lamb, 22, was released on his own recognizance in lieu of $100,000 bail.

 

A Philadelphia man was a charged with several crimes related to a pricey burglary that he is alleged to have committed in Newtown Township in early July.

Ryan Lamb, 22, of Chalfont Drive in Northeast Philadelphia, was charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, according to police and court documents.

Lamb is accused of being involved in a burglary on Gettysburg Lane that occurred in the afternoon hours while the homeowner was out, police said.

Evidence gathered at the crime scene by police led to Lamb being identified as a suspect.

The victim told police they arrived home to find the back door open and a broken window. When the homeowner checked the residence, several items were found to be missing.

Lamb is alleged to have taken jewelry, electronics and other collectible items valued at more than $5,000, police said.

When questioned by authorities, Lamb admitted his guilt in the burglary. He was cooperative and returned of property to the victims, police reported.

Lamb was arraigned last week by District Justice Donald Nasshorn and released on his own recognizance in lieu of $100,000 bail, records indicate.

The 22-year-old is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in late August.
