Recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 8

Just before 6 p.m., a resident of Ardsley Court called to report that there were subjects soliciting in the area for Respond Power without a permit.  A second resident reported the same situation around 6:45 p.m. and the responding officer located the subjects and advised them to obtain a permit.  The individuals agreed to leave the township until they had the proper permits.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

A resident of Greenbriar Lane called police around 7:30 a.m. to report that she had received a call from a male subject telling her that he was calling on behalf of a collection agency regarding her passed due credit card payment. The resident did not have an account with the company in question.

Around 6:20 p.m., someone came to police headquarters to turn in a purse that he had found along a roadway. The owner called to report it missing and was advised to come to the police station to retrieve her belongings.

Friday Nov. 11

A resident of Greenbriar Lane reported that she parked her locked car in front of her home around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 and this morning she discovered that someone had forced one of the windows down and took approximately $7 in loose change.

Sunday Nov. 13

Shortly after 10 a.m., a resident of Taylor Avenue reported that her black gym bag had been stolen from her vehicle that was parked outside her home. The bag contained the victim’s debit card, but to date there is no evidence that the card has been used. 

Tuesday Nov. 15

A resident of Willow Court reported that at some point overnight, someone entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in her driveway and took a small amount of change along with her registration and insurance cards.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

A resident of Quince Circle reported that she had received notification of several attempts to open credit card accounts using her personal information.  The investigation has been turned over to detectives.  

Friday Nov. 18

Just before 5 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Greenbriar Lane for a complaint that a vehicle was parked on the street and several juveniles got out and walked into the wooded area nearby.  The responding officer located the teens, who had BB guns with them, and advised them to leave the area. 

Around 8 p.m., police received a complaint that there was a group of kids loitering at the entrance of the Grange Fair Grounds.  The responding officer checked the grounds, including all of the buildings, and the property appeared to be secure.
