Newtown Township Police Blotter: Nov. 21 to 28

Recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

 

Monday, Nov. 21

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., a resident of Delaware Court reported that his debit card account had been fraudulently used to make a purchase in the amount of $129.99.  The victim has notified his bank of the situation.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

At approximately 4 p.m., police were dispatched to the Bucks County Community College for a report of a theft of a laptop computer.  The victim reported that he placed his Apple laptop in a black canvas bag, in a gym locker, but was not sure if he locked the locker.   When he returned to retrieve his belongings, he found his shoulder bag was there but the computer was gone.  The victim told police he will provide the serial number to further the investigation.

Thursday, Nov. 24

Around 8 p.m., police were dispatched to Windy Bush Road for a report of a motorist driving in an unsafe manner.  Police located and stopped the motorist at the intersection of Durham and Windy Bush Roads.  At the stop, it was determined that the driver was lost and trying to look at his GPS unit while driving.  The officer provided the man with directions to get back to Philadelphia.  

Saturday, Nov. 26

A resident of Farmington Place called police around 10:45 a.m. to report that an unknown person had used his credit card number to make more than $500 in online purchases.  The account has been closed and a new card will be issued by the credit card company. 

Shortly before 5 p.m., a resident of High Street reported four subjects parked their vehicles on the street and walked towards Shir Ami with shovels in their hands.  The responding officers located the juvenile subjects, who told the officer that they were going to build a fire in the wooded area.  The teens were advised that they were trespassing and they were not allowed to have a fire on the property.  The parents of the juveniles were notified that the teens will receive citations charging them with disorderly conduct.  In addition, two of the drivers received parking tickets because they parked their vehicles illegally on the street. 

Sunday, Nov. 27

A resident of Clivenden Drive called police around 12:10 a.m. to report hearing a large truck idling at the intersection of Cliveden and Durham Road.  The responding officer located a street sweeper in the shopping center.  No further police action was required. 

Shortly before 12:30 a.m., a resident of Canterbury Court reported construction noise in the area.  Police located a homeowner using a saw to cut up an old door.  He was advised by police to cease his actions until a better time. 

Around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a vacant home on Wrightstown Road when a realtor reported finding a damaged basement door and paint dumped on the floor and walls of the basement.  Several windows had also been smashed.  Detectives responded to document the crime scene.
