Newtown Township Police Blotter: Oct 17 to 21

Recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

Monday, Oct. 17

Shortly after 12 a.m., police received a complaint that there was a large group of teems loitering on Stanford Place.  The responding officers checked the area, but the subjects were no longer there.  

At approximately 4:45 p.m., police dispersed a group of about a dozen juveniles who were loitering in the area of Cambridge Lane. The teens left without incident.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., a resident of Franklin Court reported that at some point overnight someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked in his driveway and took a small amount of loose change and an MP3 player valued at $100.

Around 4:30 p.m., a student of Bucks County Community College reported that someone stole her iPad from her book bag.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

At approximately 8 a.m., a resident of Spruce Court reported that she was the victim of a credit card fraud.  She told the officer that her debit card number had been used to make purchase in Denmark and Germany in an amount over $3,000.  The victim had notified her credit union of the situation.   

Thursday, Oct. 20

A resident of Spruce Court called police to report that she had parked her unlocked car in her driveway on Wednesday at approximately 6:30 p.m. and Thursday around 9 a.m., discovered that her GPS unit and a phone charger were missing.  The victim told officers that she found that the driver's door was ajar this morning. Total value is estimated to be less than $200.  

Police responded to Copperleaf Drive around 10:25 a.m. when a resident reported that her son’s bicycle had been stolen.  The Columbia Anzer Peak bike is valued at $240 and was last seen by the owner on Tuesday

A resident of Society Place called police around 2:15 p.m. to report that a GPS unit and checkbook were taken from his unlocked vehicle at some point overnight.          

Friday, Oct. 21

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., a woman came to police headquarters to report missing cash from her purse. She said she had attended a meeting at the Rock Star Gym on Penns Trail the day before and had put her purse on a desk around 6:50 p.m. It was unattended for approximately ten minutes and Friday morning she discovered that the cash was missing.
