Police: Donkey on the Loose in Wrightstown

Tuesday, April 5

Just before noon on April 5, police were dispatched to the Chippewa Farm property owned by Wrightstown Township in the 2200 block of Second Street Pike because of a report of a burglary in progress.  The responding officers met with two members of the Wrightstown Township Public Works Department, who told the officers that they were checking on the property when they entered the residence and opened the basement door they saw three bags which weren't there the last time they were there the week before.  The employees said were going to go down the steps when one male yelled "get out of the building."  The employees then confronted two white males in the basement.

One male was identified as 27-year-old Brian Rudolph of Woodhaven Road in Philadelphia. He remained with the Public Works employees while the second male subject fled out the side door of the house and yelled for his accomplice to go with him. He then ran into the wooded area and left in a vehicle, which police said was a Toyota Camry or an Accord. 

Police discovered pry marks at a front window, which indicated that was how the men gained entry into the building.  One of the three bags described by the employees contained tools and the other two held about 140 pounds of copper, which had been cut from the basement of the house.  Rudolph was taken into police custody and arraigned before District Judge Nasshorn, who set bail at $100,000.  

Also on April 5, police responded to a noise complaint from a resident of Partridge Court at 6:30 p.m.  When the officer arrived, he said he could clearly hear guitar music. He made contact with the musician, an adult male, and told him his neighbors were being bothered by the noise. The adult male told the officer that he was testing his amplifiers and was unaware of the disturbance he was causing. Police said he was very cooperative and reduced the volume of the music. 

Wednesday, April 6

Shortly after 7:00 a.m., a resident of Park Avenue in Wrightstown Township called the police because her donkey was loose.  The responding officer located the donkey's owner driving in the area looking for her animal. The officer advised the owner that she needs to keep her animal secured.

Friday, April 8

Police received a report at 3:40 p.m. that someone had stolen copper bars belonging to AT&T from the cell tower located on Freedom Drive.
