Police: Man Arrested for DUI After Striking Parked Car

And a $300 bike was stolen from a residence on Heather Court.

Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent activity:

Wednesday, Jan. 30

At approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to Ebony Court for a report that a motorist struck a vehicle that was parked in the owner’s driveway.  When the officers arrived, the driver, a 50-year-old Doylestown man, was swaying as he attempted to walk. Officers detected an odor of an alcohol on his breath. After a brief investigation, he was arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing. Charges are pending the results of the blood work.

Thursday, Jan. 31

A resident of Heather Court called police around 3 p.m. to report that at some point between Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 someone stole her Fuji Hybrid 21 speed woman's bicycle. The bicycle, valued at $300, is black and grey with hand brakes. It was unlocked and leaning against her house at the time it was stolen, police said.

Monday, Feb. 4

Sometime overnight from Saturday into Sunday, several residents in the area of Declaration Drive and Sentinel Avenue reported someone entered or attemped to enter their vehicles. Responding officers determined that the vehicles that were locked had not been successfully entered. One vehicle owner reported that a blanket was taken from his car.
