Police: Man Arrested for Suspected Early-Morning DUI on New Year's Day

While on patrol in Wrightstown Township shortly before 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, an officer arrested a Quakertown man on suspicion of DUI.

The new year didn't get off to a great start for one Quakertown man, who was arrested for suspected DUI early New Year's Day.

While on patrol on Durham Road in Wrightstown Township around 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 1, an officer observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with the driver door open and the lights on.  The officer made contact with the driver, a 53-year-old resident of Quakertown.

After a brief investigation, the man was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing; charges are pending the results of the blood work.

Police also reported that at approximately 1:10 p.m on Dec. 31, a resident of Diamond Drive reported that he had been a victim of fraud when an unknown person withdrew money from his bank account. The bank is involved with the investigation.
